New Dallas Balloon Artist Website

Earlier this week I spent the day creating the website for Twisted Conservative. I learned to much from that process that I decided that I needed to update Higher Hope Balloons as well so people could more easily navigate and find their favorite Dallas balloon artist.

Early voting has begun in Texas

Early voting has begun for the Nov. 5th election. Here in Lewisville and Denton County we have a school board election and everything else is the 9 state amendments.

I personally support all the amendments, but Prop 6. If water infrastructure was so important to the state then they should have put it in the budget they already increased instead of as an HJR.

Next Abortion Fight is Here

Today Judge Lee Yeakel will hear arguments on whether or not to postpone the Texas abortion bill HB 2. If the judge decides in Planned Parenthood’s favor then Attorney General Abbott will immediately appeal to the 5th circuit court which has traditionally been more conservative. Please be in prayer that this ends quickly without the postponement that women and the pre-born may be saved.

 

Meet Addison – A Unique Gift from God

Today I made a new friend and I was reminded again of why I love what I do. I want you all to meet Addison. Addison is a very special child who was born with a genetic disorder known as Metatropic Dysplasia. It is a rare case of dwarfism and there are less than 100 cases ever known to exist. She is a precious child who loves Elmo.

Addison’s mother is Carrie Strimel and owns MineIsFree.com, which is part of a direct sales company that helps you create income or save on your phone bill and runs a charity known as EspeciallyNeeded.org.

Carrie inspires me as she goes out and works with numerous charities and of course fights to make the best life for her family as possible. Some look at Addison and see a tragedy or feel sympathy, but I look at her think how blessed she is to have a great mom and what joy she brings to others both from her sweet smile (which she managed not to do for the photo) and reminding us all that we have nothing to complain about today.

Everyone Has A Story Learning to Love People A friend of mine, Vlad Mitrofan, recently asked me how I take such an interest in people. I was surprised at the question, but very pleased he noticed. All of my life I’ve been a people person. I love learning about others and how they think and why they do what they do. I especially love people that are different from me. Since I run a blog called Twisted Conservative it is pretty easy to tell I have certain opinions, but honestly the best people in my life are those I disagree with. If everyone around you is the same then you’re not growing. So how did you learn to be interested in people? First, remember that people are where opportunities come from. Nobody who you are or what you do all of your opportunities in someway come from other people. Second, Remember that everyone has a story to tell. We’re all different in some way and when you learn to dig deep into a person’s life you’ll learn to find them interesting. My friend Ian Harkness deals in printing and cartridges. Most folks would not find that very exciting, but when you sit down and learn that he grew up in the UK during the London Blitz of WWII and hear his story you’ll find him one of the most interesting people you’ve ever met. Everyone has a story. You just need to have the patience to find out what it is. Who are they? Where did they come from? I’m a comic book nerd so I like to call it their origin story. What made them the person they are today? So if you want to be more productive in business then learn to find out people’s story.
