Your Finest Hour – Guest Post Hannah Bell

Purpose—this word resonates with each person’s desire to know the reason for his or her
existence. Living with purpose signifies the direction your life will take and the legacy you will
leave. There is a dream on the inside of you. A point where your skills and passions unite to
address a problem—a unique assignment that you were created to carry out; in essence, your
life’s mission.

When you awaken to the fact that you have a calling, you will have the confidence to make the
right choices, the resolve to endure with conviction in the midst of obstacles, and the passion to
use your platform to help others. In this endeavor, keep five things in mind: 1) Trust God to direct
and strengthen you to achieve your purpose. 2) Write a personal mission statement. 3) Develop a
plan and remain flexible to refine it as you mature. 4) Surround yourself with trustworthy
mentors. 5) Do not give up.

You are alive now in history for a reason. Your significance is not based on the number of things
you have accomplished; but rather is the quality of life you lead, taking one moment at a time. If
you influence one person to dream again, help one individual regain hope, or inspire one man or
woman to realize that his or her life is significant, you will have done something great.

Still yearning to know the essence of your purpose? Recall this primary reminder: “I, the Lord,
have called you” (Isaiah 42:6) and “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I
will counsel you with my loving eye on you” (Psalm 32:8). If you keep this as your foundation,
you will not miss your calling.

There is an awakening happening among young men and women. Purpose is beckoning our
generation to rise to the occasion of leadership. This is your finest hour.

“Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that….men will still
say, ‘This was their Finest Hour.’”
– Winston Churchill
